VOLUNTEERING

TAKING PART.  We're looking for active people to help us run our riding sessions.  Minimum age is 12 but we have no upper limit provided you are reasonably fit.  Our sessions run during the school term times from March to June and again from August to November so if you have a couple of hours to spare on Monday afternoons or Wednesdays and would like to do something really worthwhile we would love to hear from you.  You don't have to be horsie, nor have previous experience working with disabled people, you just need enthusiasm, energy and a desire to help the riders enjoy their riding….  Oh, and a sense of humour and a pair of wellies are also a bonus!  We need people to lead ponies, or walk at the side of some of our riders to give them confidence and encouragement.

THE OFFICIAL BIT:  Full training will be given to all volunteers.  As you will be working with children and vulnerable adults you must have a PVG in place before you can begin helping. We will organise this and there will be no cost to you.  We simply cannot operate without volunteers to help with our riders during our sessions.   There is no doubt that our sessions give our riders huge physical and emotional benefits.  Please help us to help them.   Interested? Contact Charlotte on charlotte@delfur.co.uk.  See our next term dates here.

FUNDRAISING AND DONATING

As a self-funding organisation, the Moray Group of the RDA needs in excess of £10,000 per year to successfully run the group. We have to raise all this money ourselves and therefore rely on our fundraising events as well as the generosity of organisations and individuals like yourselves.  The running costs include hire of Cranloch Riding Centre’s ponies the facilities and their staff, instructors’ fees, insurance, upkeep of our own 3 ponies, tack purchase, games equipment to name a few.

We organise a number of fundraising activities throughout the year and we’re always looking for willing hands to help out at these events.  Or why not run your own car boot, or stall, or sell on ebay and donate some of the proceeds to us?

So you see, even if you can’t help us as a volunteer at our riding sessions you can help in other ways:  Click here to see a list of forthcoming events and here to download a donations form.

ALL the money we raise or have donated to us is used LOCALLY in one way or another to benefit our riders.
